Context

voduong.com is a side project — a community platform for martial arts centers and dojos. I designed and built it end-to-end (UI/UX, frontend, backend) as a solo developer, using my own AI-assisted workflow. It currently serves 170+ active users in production.

What I work on

• Frontend & UX — Self-designed, responsive UI across web, mobile, and tablet in Next.js.
• Backend — NestJS services backed by PostgreSQL + Redis, with REST APIs for the web client.
• Auth & access control — Email/password and Google OAuth sign-in, plus role-based access control for owner, admin (acting on the owner's behalf), and teacher roles.
• DevOps — Frontend on Vercel, backend on Railway, Cloudflare for DNS and routing, across staging and production environments.

Selected work

• Core management features: employees, classes, students, attendance, and centers.
• Role-based access control so teachers manage and interact with their own classes.
• Transactional email via Brevo for sign-up and account flows.

Outcomes

• 170+ active users in production.
• AI-assisted workflow (OpenAI Codex and Claude via 9router with custom skills and workflows) to design, build, and ship solo while keeping quality high.
